In celebration of National Ice Cream Month, we are sharing our love of our Housemade Gelato. If we’ve learned anything over the years, it is that everything tastes better when it is housemade. Which is why we don’t cut any corners when it comes to making our gelato!
It all starts with adding whole mix, heavy cream, malted milk powder and kosher salt in a pot and whisking away as it comes to a boil. We then combine sugar, egg yolk, corn syrup and vanilla bean paste in a mixing bowl. Next we slowly add the cream mixture into the egg mixture to temper the eggs until fully combined. This mixture is then cooled to 40° before adding it to our gelato machine. Inside the gelato machine the mixture gets churned until it reaches the perfect soft-serve consistency. To finish it off, we gently fold ingredients like crumbled Oreos or toasted pistachios into the gelato. Then comes the final step, enjoy!
Our Housemade Gelato is always available in flavors of Triple Chocolate Brownie, Oreos & Cream and Purely Pistachio. Additionally, we keep a seasonally inspired flavor in rotation. Our current seasonal flavor is Peanut Butter and Jelly which will be available throughout the summer. Our Housemade Gelato is served in a mason jar with multiple scoops and mini waffle cones for good measure. This dessert is perfect for sharing, or not!
